The airbag vest exists out of a body warmer filled with inflatable air cushions, a back protector, a CO2-cartridge (non toxic, non flammable) and a spiral cord.
The airbag vest is worn over your clothes.
IS THE AIRBAGVEST REUSABLE?
Yes, just release the air from the airbag, put it back in the vest and replace the CO2-canister.
IS THE VEST WASHABLE?
Yes, the vest of model MC can be washed at 30 degrees Celsius in the washing machine or by hand when the airbag is removed. The other models must be cleaned with a wet cloth as the airbag can not be removed from the vest.
DO I HAVE TO ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG?
No, you just connect the lanyard to your saddle or cart and if you fall, the airbag will activate itself. The inflation is activated when the rider becomes detached from the horse and the lanyard is pulled from the keyball-mechanism which pierces the CO2-canister.
IS THE CO2-CANISTER REFILLABLE?
No, the canister can be used only once. You need to replace the canister.
HOW MUCH DOES THE AIRBAG VEST WEIGH?
Between 880 gr. - 1,1 kg depending on the model and size.
IS AN AIRBAGVEST BETA APPROVED?
At this moment the airbagvests are not BETA-approved. Airbagvests must be worn with an approved BETA level 3 bodyprotector in competitions where the EN13158/BETA is required. When otherwise you do not have to wear a bodyprotector as the Hit-Air airbagvest can be worn on its own and will help to significantly minimise the risks.
RECOMMENDATIONS
Do not wear any object under the Hit-Air airbagvest that could likely cause traumatism and/or injury while inflation of the airbag.
The airbagvest should be comfortable to wear and should not be too tight. Choose carefully the right size.
Check annually the proper functioning of the airbagsystem by manually activating the airbag by triggering the lanyard attached to the airbagvest.
Take care of your vest by regularly cleaning and by storing it after use on a clotheshanger in a dry place.
Do not wear any clothes or backpack over the vest that could prevent or hinder the activating or deployment of the airbag.
