EN: Parelli Horseman's Reins

The Horseman's Reins are the Parelli version of the traditional mecate reins (stiff, western reins woven from horsehair). The Horseman's reins are made of the same superior quality rope as the Parelli lead ropes. They are therefore soft in the hand and convey feeling well.

You can use them to attach to a rope halter (creating a natural hackamore) or to use long lines (zone 5 driving) through the halter. The rope is therefore useful for various applications; its total length is 22 feet (6.8 m).

Attach the horseman's reins to your bridle with rein leathers (e.g. the Parelli Country brown rein leathers ).
These leather slobber bars act as a lever when you lift your reins. This way, the horse senses when you're about to use the reins much earlier, before the rein even makes contact with the bit.

When you use the reins on a bridle or halter for riding, you can adjust the reins to the desired length and still have some lead rope left.
