The deep seat of the Isabell saddle is unique and places the rider in a central and balanced position. The saddle ensures optimal contact with the horse and offers excellent support. Thanks to the generous panels and the world-renowned HART systems, including the CAIR® air cushions, the
optimal comfort and complete freedom of movement.

The new version of the "Isabell" saddle offers the rider new sensations. The rider's general position remains more or less the same in this new saddle, but the deeper seat allows for a narrower and better contact with the horse. The new design immediately provides a comfortable feeling. The priority in designing this saddle was to achieve a correct dressage position and a smooth transition between the rider's seat and legs. The groove in the leather for the ends of the stirrup leathers, combined with the ergonomic stirrup bars, ensures better contact by minimizing the amount of layers under the rider's thigh.
The pre-formed sweat flap front pieces significantly improve the rider's comfort and position.
The saddle tree is designed entirely with the aim of creating an anatomical shape that follows the natural line of the horse's back for even greater stability. The updated design of the wider and shorter CAIR saddle panels can be adapted to a wider variety of horse backs and offers even more space for the spine, allowing the hindquarters to exert more effort.

Bates CAIR Cushion System
Bates CAIR saddles feature the revolutionary CAIR air cushion system, which takes your horse's back muscles into account. Traditional saddle padding has been replaced with air. The natural shock absorption of air promotes your horse's relaxation and collection while riding. Because you sit closer to your horse, you become an extension of each other; rider and horse become one.

Bates EASY-CHANGE Fit Solution

This system allows you to simply adjust your saddle as your horse's muscles and shape change.

The Bates "EASY-CHANGE Gullet System" allows you to easily adjust the width of the Elastiflex saddle tree. The Elastiflex tree provides stability along the saddle's length while still allowing it to adapt to a specific lateral flexion of the horse's muscles. Tree width is determined using the Wintec/Bates Gullet Gauge, which allows you to measure the width of your horse's withers. Every Bates saddle comes standard with a black (medium) gullet. Depending on your horse's narrower withers, you can narrow your saddle tree to a green (medium narrow) or a yellow (narrow) gullet. If your horse is wider, you can choose a blue (medium wide), red (wide), or white (extra wide) gullet.
The Bates Easy-Change Riser system allows you to easily adjust your saddle cushions for optimal balance and freedom of movement.
Using the special panel inserts, you can easily add more padding in the right places. The Easy-Change Riser Standard Pack contains 10 pairs of pads for the front, middle, and back, in various thicknesses. When a member of the Alea team comes to fit your saddle to your horse, these pads will be used as needed to ensure a good fit and even pressure distribution across the horse's back.
