What do you need to get started?

The Parelli Rope Halters They come in six different sizes. If you feel your halter is too big or too small, don't try to undo the knots yourself, as these halters have a perfect, proportionate fit.
The Regular size is the most common size and fits most horses, ranging from Fjord or Haflinger horses to the average 1.65m tall. For larger sport horses, horses with a long head, such as Friesians, it's better to choose the Warmblood size. The Pony size in the Parelli halters runs quite small; for D-sized ponies, for example, the Arabian size often fits better.
Just like Parelli ropes, these halters are made of the highest quality polyester rope. Unlike cheaper nylon ropes, these ropes don't stretch or become stiff with frequent use. TIP: For the correct knot for the halter, please see our another fact about rope halters !
Together with the Parelli 12-ft lead rope ('7-games' rope of approximately 3.7 meters long) a rope halter helps to improve communication with your horse and therefore ensures greater safety from the ground.
As you progress through the Parelli program you will play with your horse at a greater distance, e.g. via a Parelli 22-ft line (6.7 meter rope), a Parelli feather line of 22-ft or Parelli 22-ft lasso (less heavy than the rope, useful in deep sand or mud) and finally the Parelli 45-ft lasso (=13.7m).
A Carrot Stick is very useful for ground work, as you use the stick as an extension of your arm. The Parelli Kidz Stick is a smaller and lighter version, ideal for young Parelli kids up to about 12 years old or for those who prefer to use a shorter stick on the ground or while riding.
The Carrot Stick comes with a 6-ft Savvy String (string approx. 180cm long). There is a shorter version of the Kidz Stick, the so-called Kidz String , approximately 4 ft (approx. 120 cm). The Savvy String is also multifunctional: tie it around the horse's neck while riding, for example, and you have a super handy neck string!
Parelli Natural Hackamore
This rope halter and rope rein combination is ideal for recreational riding or Parelli Freestyle riding, as you have both your reins and a lead rope at your disposal.
The combination of the Parelli rope halter and Horseman's Reins allows you to easily determine the length of your reins and/or rope yourself. You can Natural Hackamore so also use for ground work.

Parelli Finesse Reins - clip reins
This handy rope reins They fit well in the hand and are super comfortable to ride with. Ideal for developing more sensitivity in your hand. The rein clips are very handy for easily attaching and removing the reins from your halter or bridle.
Available in 3 lengths: for ponies and small horses 9ft (275cm) is the 'standard size', 11ft (335cm) is used for horses with a long neck such as large warmbloods and 10ft (3m) is somewhere in between.
